Former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel has sold his Upper Arlington home to Bobby Layman.

“My parents did buy Jim and Ellen’s house,” Jeff Layman, the auto dealer’s son, said yesterday. “The deal is closed. They plan to move into the house. ... My mom’s very happy; she likes the house.”

Layman said the Tressels are still in the house, but “there’s no rush to move on my parents’ behalf.”

The Laymans live nearby in Upper Arlington.

The Tressels bought the house at 2777 McCoy Rd. for $1.38 million in 2003, according to the Franklin County auditor’s website.

The four-bedroom house is 7,781 square feet and includes four full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.

The home sold privately, without being listed for sale. The Tressels could not be reached for comment yesterday.
