Sale price of Tressels’ Upper Arlington home: $2.2 million

The Columbus Dispatch Thursday February 2, 2012 8:15 AM

Former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel and his wife, Ellen, sold their Upper Arlington home for $2.2 million to auto dealer Bobby Layman, according to the Franklin County auditor’s office.

The Tressels bought the house at 2777 McCoy Rd. in 2003 for $1.38 million. They also own a beachfront condo in Siesta Key, Fla.

The transfer of the property was received by Franklin County yesterday, one day after The Dispatch reported that the Tressels had sold the 7,781-square-foot home.

Bobby Layman’s son, Jeff Layman, said the Tressels are still in the house, and the Laymans, who also live in Upper Arlington, are in “no rush” to move.

Jim Tressel agreed to resign as coach under pressure on May 30 because of NCAA rules violations.
