Derek Thompson came off the bench to score 23 points and lead Eastern Michigan to a 68-55 victory over Ohio University yesterday in Ypsilanti, Mich.

D.J. Cooper had 15 points for the Bobcats (19-6, 7-4), who dropped their second straight game and fell into fourth place in the Mid-American Conference East Division.

Reggie Keely had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Walter Offutt scored 11 for Ohio, which fell behind 9-0 and didn’t score until 9:50 had elapsed in the first half.

The Bobcats, who trailed 27-17 at halftime, made only 5 of 22 shots in the first half, shot only 31 percent for the game and never got closer than five points in the second half.

The Eagles (11-14, 6-5) made 8 of 12 three-point attempts.

No. 18 Marquette 95, Cincinnati 78 — Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder had 23 points each for host Marquette (21-5, 10-3), which held Cincinnati’s leading scorer, Sean Kilpatrick, to seven points in a Big East game. The 95 points allowed by the Bearcats (17-8, 7-5) were 17 over their previous high for the season.

Temple 85, Xavier 72 — Ramone Moore scored 30 points and Temple (19-5, 8-2) built a 21-point lead in the first half and coasted past Xavier (16-9, 7-4) in a game with first place in the Atlantic 10 on the line. Tu Holloway scored 23 points for the Musketeers.

Denison 68, Allegheny 65 — Dimonde Hale scored 13 points and Denison (11-12, 8-6) overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to defeat host Allegheny (5-18, 3-11).
