Friday February 17, 2012 5:53 AM

Draymond Green had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Keith Appling added 20 points to help No. 7 Michigan State defeat No. 15 Wisconsin 69-55 last night.

The win moved the Spartans back into a tie with No. 6 Ohio State atop the Big Ten standings.

It was the Spartans’ sixth victory over a ranked team this season, the most in Division I.

Michigan State’s margin of victory was its largest in the series since Feb. 12, 2000.

The Spartans (21-5, 10-3) have won four straight games — the longest active streak in the conference — and six of their past seven.

Michigan State shot 52.2 percent against a team that hadn’t allowed an opponent to shoot 50 percent once this season and was giving up a nation-low 50.3 points a game. And the Spartans held Wisconsin to 34 percent shooting.

The Badgers (19-7, 8-5) had won seven of their past eight games, including their previous four road games, after opening the Big Ten season with three straight losses.

Ryan Evans scored 17 points for the Badgers. Jordan Taylor missed 10 of 13 shots and was held to 13 points.

Men’s highlights

No. 5 Duke 78, N.C. State 73 — Seth Curry scored 21 of his season-high 26 points in the second half, and Duke (22-4, 9-2) rallied from a 20-point deficit with 11:33 remaining to defeat North Carolina State (18-8, 7-4) in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Freshman Austin Rivers added 16 points for the Blue Devils, who used late rallies of 13-0 and 20-3 to erase the huge deficit and keep pace with No. 8 North Carolina and No. 20 Florida State atop the ACC standings.

Lorenzo Brown had 19 points to lead the Wolfpack, which trailed 76-73 with the ball in the final seconds with a chance to force overtime. But Brown missed a contested three-pointer from the corner with about seven seconds left, and Curry hit two free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining to seal N.C. State’s 14th straight loss at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Penn State 69, Iowa 64 — Tim Frazier scored 18 points to lead Penn State (12-15, 4-10) past Iowa (13-13, 5-8) in the Big Ten. Matt Gatens had 21 points for the Hawkeyes.

Hillsdale 70, Ohio Dominican 59 — Jake Mochoskay had 18 points to help Hillsdale (19-4, 13-3) send Ohio Dominican (3-20, 0-17) to its 13th straight loss in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
