Baseball: Ohio State's Dezse named Big Ten player of the week

Ohio State's Josh Dezse, a sophomore first baseman-pitcher from Olentangy Liberty, in the Big Ten's player of the week in baseball, the conference announced this afternoon.

Dezse went 7 for 14 and had an on-base percentage of .533 and slugging percentage of .714 to help lead the Buckeyes to a 2-1 record in the Big Ten/Big East Challenge. Dezse had multiple-hit games in all three outings, including a 3-for-5 day in a loss to South Florida.

OSU posted victories over Seton Hall and Connecticut.
