Wisconsin replaced offensive line coach Mike Markuson just two games into the season.

Coach Bret Bielema insisted it wasn't a knee-jerk reaction to the Badgers' disappointing 1-1 start, saying that he and Markuson have had several conversations about the direction the team was heading. Markuson will be replaced by Bart Miller, a graduate assistant.

• Arkansas coach John L. Smith said quarterback Tyler Wilson still has symptoms from a head injury suffered in Saturday's loss to Louisiana-Monroe, and his status is uncertain for this week's home game against No. 1 Alabama.

• Alabama running back Jalston Fowler is expected to miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury suffered on Saturday against Western Kentucky. Fowler is second on the Crimson Tide with 85 yards on 11 carries.

• Tulane athletic director Rick Dickson said it's too early to know the long-term effects of a spinal injury Devon Walker suffered during a game Saturday at Tulsa.

Walker remained in stable condition in intensive care in a Tulsa, Okla., hospital after undergoing surgery on Sunday. He was injured in a head-to-head collision.
