A new analysis of revenue and expenses for college football programs shows that the Ohio State University Buckeyes are the most valuable team, according to a story in today's Wall Street Journal

The newspaper reported that Ohio State's program is valued at $1.5 billion, according to an analysis of 2016 data by Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus.

The newspaper said that is a 59.6 percent increase in value "for a program that was already worth the most nationally" according to the study, which analyzes what each team would be worth on the open market if sold like a professional sports franchise.
