No. 11 Ohio State rallied for three goals in the third period Friday night but still fell short in a 5-4 loss to host Michigan, which received a hat trick from Cooper Marody.

Nick Schilkey and Miguel Fidler scored for the Buckeyes (12-6-6, 3-4-1-1 Big Ten) in the first 17 seconds of the third to make 5-3, and Dakota Joshua added a goal at 8:58.

Tanner Laczynski had Ohio State's first goal, at 10:08 of the second, and Mason Jobst had two assists to extend his point streak to 11 games. Christian Frey made 28 saves.

Hayden Lavigne had 25 saves for the Wolverines (9-12-2, 2-6-1-1).
