Ohio State’s loss to Nebraska on Saturday has cost them a seed line in the latest NIT bracket projection.
In an updated projection released late Sunday night, the website dratings.com now has the Buckeyes as a No. 5 seed in the NIT. Ohio State is ranked as the third No. 5 seed, which would send the Buckeyes on the road for the tournament.
Ohio State is now 15-13 overall and 5-10 in the Big Ten. It hosts conference co-leader Wisconsin on Thursday night.
The Buckeyes have twice made the NIT in coach Thad Matta’s 13 seasons. Last year, they were 18-10 with three games to play in the regular season and lost to Florida in the second round. In 2007-08, they were 17-11 and won the tournament.
