Ohio University, which won the Mid-American Conference baseball tournament as the No. 5 seed, won’t have to travel far to continue its postseason run.
The Bobcats (31-20) will be the No. 4 seed in the Lexington Regional and will meet top-seeded Kentucky (39-20) at noon on Friday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The middle seeds, No. 2 Indiana (33-22-2) and No. 3 North Carolina State (34-23) play at 7 p.m. Friday.
Ohio beat third-seeded Eastern Michigan 7-4 on Sunday to earn its second NCAA berth in three years.
The overall No. 1 seed for the 64-team tournament is Oregon State (49-4), followed by North Carolina, Florida and LSU.
