The Ohio State men's basketball team will open play in the PK80 Invitational in the fall with national runner-up Gonzaga.

The Buckeyes are one of 16 teams to participate in the tournament in Portland, Oregon, to honor the 80th birthday of Nike founder Phil Knight. The teams are split into two brackets, with each team to play three games starting Thanksgiving Day.

The second day, Ohio State will face either Florida or Stanford, depending on the results. Then after a day of rest, the Buckeyes will close the event by playing either Duke, Portland State, Butler or Texas.

Gonzaga finished last season 37-2 and lost to North Carolina in the national championship game. Ohio State went 17-15 and was not selected for postseason play.

After taking part in the tournament, Ohio State will return to presumably host a game as part of the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge in the middle of the week before opening Big Ten play with one home game and one road game.

The team’s full schedule has not been announced.
