*This is the first game of the Chris Holtmann era at Ohio State. He’s seeking to become the third straight coach to win his Buckeyes debut. Jim O’Brien and Thad Matta both won their openers, with the last loss going to Randy Ayers on Nov. 15, 1989 – a 71-53 loss at DePaul.

The last Ohio State coach to lose his debut at home? That would be Floyd S. Stahl, who lost 68-51 to Kansas State at home to begin the 1950-51 season.

*This will also be the 200th game of Holtmann’s career as a head coach. His overall record is 114-85 (.573) in stops at Butler and Gardner-Webb.

*Four scholarship players should make their debuts for the Buckeyes: graduate transfer Andrew Dakich and freshmen Musa Jallow, Kaleb Wesson and Kyle Young. All saw playing time in last Sunday’s exhibition win against the College of Wooster.

*Ohio State’s five projected starters are the only Buckeyes with starts in their careers: Tate (76), Bates-Diop (36), Williams (31), Potter (12) and Jackson (9).

*The Buckeyes signed four players Wednesday for the class of 2018. They signed four in the last two combined classes, and only two remain. In their last three classes, the Buckeyes have lost seven of the nine players they've signed due to transfers.

*After finishing 14-19 last year, Robert Morris returns only two starters and three letterwinners and has 11 new players. The Colonials were picked to finish seventh in the 10-team Northwest Conference.

*The Colonials are 78-32 (.709) when scoring more than 70 points and 28-4 (.875) when scoring more than 80 during coach Andrew Toole’s seven seasons.

We’ve got plenty for you. First off, why isn’t this game on TV? Here's why.

It's been a whirlwind of a week for Holtmann, who signed four new players and had to get his team ready to open with two games in three days. What's it felt like? To quote Clark Griswold, "Where's the Tylenol?"

This Ohio State team will go as far as its three most-experienced players will carry it. As Williams put it, "One of my goals is to bring Ohio State back to where it was when I committed."

Here are the keys to Ohio State's season, as I see it.

The Buckeyes showed a few things off earlier this week when they opened the practice doors to students. Here's what we learned.

That four-man recruiting class? Here's what Holtmann said about them, and here's more that didn't make the paper.

Enjoy the game. Check here afterward for the postgame blog and more.
