Ohio State moved up to No. 9 in the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night.

The Buckeyes were No. 13 before routing No. 12 Michigan State 48-3 last week.

After playing Illinois this week, Ohio State faces No. 24 Michigan in the regular-season finale and then would face No. 5 Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game.

In all, six Big Ten teams are in the top 25. Penn State is No. 10. Michigan State fell to No. 17 and Northwestern is No. 23.

Alabama moved to No. 1 after Georgia lost at Auburn. Clemson is No. 2 despite having a loss, ahead of undefeated No. 3 Miami. Oklahoma is fourth and Auburn sixth.
