Ohio State women’s basketball landed its second 2019 recruit with a verbal commitment Tuesday from North Central High School (Indianapolis) guard Rikki Harris.

In a Twitter post, Harris said she chose the Buckeyes “based upon my style of play and my connection with the coaching staff.”

Harris, a 5-feet-9 combo guard, is ranked No. 24 overall by ESPN in the Class of 2019 as well as No.6 at the guard position. As a sophomore, she was a key contributor on a North Central team that reached the IHSAA Class 4A state quarterfinal round.

Harris joins a 2019 class for Ohio State that already includes Dublin Coffman guard Jacy Sheldon.

ESPN ranks three Ohio girls basketball players — Africentric’s Jordan Horston, Canton McKinley’s Kierstan Bell and Toledo Rogers’ Zia Cooke — in its top 10 for 2019.

No. 12 Ohio State (11-2) opens Big Ten play Thursday, Dec. 28 at Nebraska.
