Ohio State picked up the second commitment — and the second offensive lineman — to its 2019 recruiting class Thursday when Ryan Jacoby announced his choice on social media.

“I am very proud to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at The Ohio State University,” Jacoby wrote on Twitter.

From Mentor, the 6-foot-5, 265-pound Jacoby had offers from Michigan, West Virginia, Iowa State and others, but was said to leaning heavily toward Ohio State all the way.

He joined Doug Nester, a lineman from Huntington, West Virginia, who announced his commitment in August. While Nester is ranked No. 57 among overall prospects nationally according to the 247Sports composite of the major recruiting rankings, Jacoby is No. 356.

Both are considered four-star prospects.
