Ohio State scored five straight goals to rally from a 6-3 deficit and defeat Detroit Mercy 8-7 in Pontiac, Michigan.
With OSU down 6-3 early in the third quarter, five players each contributed a goal. The Buckeyes (5-1) took their first lead of the game when a goal by John Kelly put them up 7-6 at 11:55 of the fourth quarter.
Gale Thorpe tallied what proved to be the winning goal at 3:52.
Detroit Mercy (2-4) cut the lead to 8-7 with 3:17 to play, but the OSU defense held from there.
