It’s no coincidence that the only two teams that came close to beating UConn this season thus far were also the only two — Notre Dame, the Huskies’ semifinal opponent on Friday night, and Texas — to hold a lead in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, since the postseason started with three games in an American Athletic Conference tournament romp and four in the NCAA, the last time UConn trailed was with 8:40 left in the first quarter in the AAC opener against Tulane.

The Huskies have outscored their seven postseason opponents 604 to 353, an average of 86-50. That is right at their season averages; they lead the nation in scoring (89.4) and are fourth in scoring defense (52.3).
