Shelby McCombs' two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth capped a five-run inning that gave Ohio State a 9-7 victory over Wisconsin on Friday at Buckeye Field.
McCombs' blast, her team-leading seventh of the season, drove home Amy Balich, who was pinch-running for Emily Clark.
With OSU (20-7, 1-3 Big Ten) trailing 7-4, Clark's single scored Taylor White and Nikki Carver. Ashley Goodwin's groundout then drove home Lilly Piper to tie the score, setting up McCombs with two outs.

McCombs also pitched 4 1/3 innings in relief, allowing three runs on one hit. She struck out five, but walked nine batters. Kat Duvall closed the sixth inning with a strikeout, then tossed a scoreless seventh for the win.
McCombs finished with three hits, as did Piper. Carver had two hits, including a home run in the fourth.
Wisconisin (15-12, 1-1) finished with just four hits, but drew 13 walks, including four by Melanie Cross.
Ohio State (17-8, 0-1 Big Ten) jumped out to a 3-0 lead with the help of a two-run homer by Nate Romans, but Nebraska (14-12, 2-2) scored seven unanswered runs to post a 7-3 victory at Bill Davis Stadium. OSU starter Connor Curlis struck out eight over 6 2/3 innings, but allowed three runs on three hits in the fourth inning and gave up two unearned runs in the fifth.
Ohio State (8-5, 2-2 Big Ten) jumped out to a 3-1 advantage, but Michigan (9-8, 5-0) rallied with three consecutive singles points to defeat the Buckeyes 4-3 at the OSU Varsity Tennis Center. Anna Sanford and Shiori Fukuda won their doubles match together and respective singles matches to give OSU the early lead before Michigan's Alyvia Jones, Mira Ruder-Hook and Bella Lorenzini responded with close-out victories.
