The No. 3 Ohio State men’s tennis team will play host to East Tennessee State in the first round of the NCAA championships on May 11.

If Ohio State (29-2) beats the Buccaneers (16-7), it would play the winner of the other first-round match at OSU between Kentucky and Virginia Tech. The Wildcats and Hokies will play at 10 a.m., with the Buckeyes to follow at about 1 p.m.

If the Buckeyes win their two matches, they will advance to the round of 16 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Ohio State won the Big Ten tournament title last weekend with a 4-0 victory over No. 8 Illinois. The Buckeyes have won eight matches against top-15 teams this year and have five singles players ranked nationally.

The Ohio State women’s team gained an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament. The 28th-ranked Buckeyes (14-8) will play No. 40 Clemson in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 11. If they win, they would play the winner of No. 1 seed Vanderbilt-Alabama State.
