Urban Meyer and his Ohio State coaching staff years ago embraced the safer-tackling approach to football, and they want to share it with youth and middle school coaches with a free clinic at 6 p.m. May 22, at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, according to a program spokesman.

Alex Grinch, the new safeties coach and defensive co-coordinator, will headline the seminar. Grinch and others will show how to teach the fundamentals of safe tackling, with the primary emphasis of keeping the head out of harm’s way.

A spokesman for the program said coaches interested in attending should email Brendan Bishop at bishop.439@osu.edu for further details.
