The Ohio State women’s basketball team will host North Carolina on Thursday, Nov. 29, as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the Big Ten announced Monday.

The game will serve as an early test for the Buckeyes, who will feature nine new players next season, including five graduate transfers, after a 28-7 season in which Ohio State lost in the second round in the NCAA Tournament. UNC went 15-16 in the 2017-18 season but returns the majority of its players.

Ohio State has not played the Tar Heels since the 2015 NCAA Tournament second round, when Jamie Cherry hit a last-second shot to send the Buckeyes to an 86-84 loss. The Buckeyes took a 69-60 loss at Duke last November in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

The remainder of Ohio State’s 2018-19 schedule has not yet been announced. Times and television assignments for the Ohio State-UNC game will be announced at a later date.

Other notable ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups include Nebraska at Louisville, Michigan at North Carolina State, Syracuse at Minnesota, Iowa at Notre Dame and Miami at Purdue on Nov. 29.
