Ohio State freshman defensive back Marcus Hooker has been charged with driving under the influence from a June 16 incident in Pennsylvania.

Hooker, the brother of former Buckeyes star Malik Hooker, enrolled early this month at Ohio State.

He was charged by Neshannock Township police with having a high rate of alcohol in his system, which according to Pennsylvania law is a blood alcohol level of 0.10 to 0.159 percent. He also was charged with disregarding a traffic lane, careless driving, not having rear lights and the purchase of alcohol by a minor. Hooker turns 19 in October.

A preliminary arraignment is scheduled for July 5.

The charges were first reported by the New Castle News in Pennsylvania.
