Alonzo Gaffney has dropped nine spots in the updated rankings for the 2019 recruiting class.

The listings, which were released today, now have the lone verbal commitment for Ohio State’s class as the No. 30 overall recruit in the nation and a four-star prospect. Rivals has also updated his listing to reflect that Gaffney will not play for Garfield Heights, Ohio, as a senior, but rather Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy. His new prep school is not believed to impact his Ohio State commitment in any way.

He remains the top prospect from Ohio from this past season, however. Joining him in the top 150 are Pickerington Central point guard Jeremiah Francis (No. 74) and Xenia shooting guard Samari Curtis (144). Francis, a North Carolina commit, dropped 18 spots and is a four-star prospect while Curtis, a former Xavier commit who reopened his recruitment, is a three-star prospect who climbed one spot.

In ESPN’s newly updated rankings for the 2019 class, which were released Friday, Gaffney remains a five-star prospect and the No. 24 recruit in the nation. Although he won’t play within the state as a senior, he is the only Ohioan to make the cut.
