Ohio State received two positive awards today, with one of them directly citing the men’s basketball program.

In a release from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, the Buckeyes were one team to earn a Team Academic Excellence Award. The honor is given to NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA teams that compile a grade-point average of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. Ohio State achieved that in coach Chris Holtmann’s first season, and also improved their Academic Progress Report rating in the process.

Butler, Holtmann’s prior school, also made the list. Just one other Big Ten school made the list: Northwestern.

In addition, CBSSports.com compiled a list of the top athletic programs in college sports for the 2017-18 school year. And for the second time in four years, Ohio State has topped the list.
