Dre’Mont Jones made the pivotal play in Ohio State’s come-from-behind win over Texas Christian on Saturday night, and on Monday the defensive tackle was rewarded by being named the Big Ten defensive player of the week.

Jones’ interception of a shovel pass and 28-yard return for a touchdown was the second score in a three-TD flurry in 4 minutes, 1 second in the third quarter that took the Buckeyes from an eight-point deficit to a 12-point lead.

The score was part of a dynamic evening for Jones. He had a chance at another interception earlier in the game, leaping at the line of scrimmage to knock down a pass from TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson. Jones had two tackles for loss, including a sack, among his six overall tackles.

Also, The Buckeyes' game at Penn State next Saturday will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and be televised on ABC (Channel 6), the Big Ten announced Monday.
