Ohio State stiff-armed Minnesota 30-14, was a survivor of the major upset weekend, and Sunday the Buckeyes reaped a reward, moving up one spot to No.2 in the coaches' poll behind top-ranked Alabama.

The upward mobility was afforded by previous No.2 Georgia’s stunning 36-16 loss at Louisiana State, which is led by former Ohio State backup quarterback Joe Burrow. The top 10 was shuffled as a result of that and other upsets, with Clemson, idle last weekend, moving up to No.3 followed by Notre Dame, LSU, Georgia, Michigan (which ripped Wisconsin), Texas, Central Florida and Oklahoma.

Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Notre Dame, Central Florida, No.15 North Carolina State, No.20 South Florida and No.22 Cincinnati are the remaining unbeaten teams in major college football.

Previous unbeatens to fall over the weekend included Georgia, West Virginia and Colorado.

Ohio State (7-0, 4-0) plays at Purdue (3-3, 2-1) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
