Junior cornerback Damon Arnette will return to Ohio State for his senior season. Arnette revealed his decision Friday afternoon on Instagram.
“After speaking with my family and getting valuable insight from Cris Carter, I have decided (to) return to The Ohio State University to take care of some unfinished business with my brothers,” Arnette wrote, referring to the former OSU star receiver.Join the conversation at Facebook.com/BuckeyeXtra and connect with us on Twitter @BuckeyeXtra
“I am excited for the opportunity to play for Coach (Ryan) Day and I also look forward to playing with the elite talent that will be returning next season.
“I am ready for the journey and anxious to get back to work as we prepare to win another national championship.”
Arnette shared primary cornerback duties with sophomore Jeffrey Okudah and junior Kendall Sheffield. Sheffield has not announced whether he will return to Ohio State or enter the NFL draft.
Arnette’s decision is a mild surprise. He indicated after the Rose Bowl that was leaning toward turning pro.
Arnette, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had one interception and six pass breakups in 2018.
