Dakota Joshua scored two goals and Mason Jobst, Matt Miller and Gustaf Westlund each contributed a goal and two assists as the Ohio State hockey team stormed to a 6-4 victory over Penn State on Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania.

The fourth-ranked Buckeyes (15-5-4 overall, 8-3-3-2 in the Big Ten) scored four times with a man advantage in the second period to sweep the series with the No. 13 Nittany Lions.

Power-play goals by Joshua and Miller gave the Buckeyes a 3-2 lead in the first 7½ minutes of the second period. After Penn State’s Ludvig Larsson tied the score with a short-handed goal, Joshua and Westlund scored 1:23 apart to restore a 5-3 advantage at the 16:19 mark.

Jobst added an insurance goal some six minutes into the third period.

Tommy Nappier made 34 saves for the Buckeyes, who outshot Penn State 39-38, including 32-19 in the first two periods.

Ohio State is off next weekend and will host Notre Dame on Feb. 1-2.
