For the first time since 2016, the Ohio State rowing team placed in the top three in each of its A/B semifinal races and advanced all three boats to Sunday’s Grand Finals of the NCAA Championships.

The OSU 2v8 boat, made up of Sophie Blair, Mane Bravo Alvez, Sierra Cydrus, Meg Cymanski, Rachel DeWitte, Michaela Nordhaus, Maddie Perrett, Michayla Binkley and Claire Cannon, placed second behind Washington (6:52.663) in a photo finish with a time of 6:52.776.
The Buckeyes also finished second in their heat of the 1v4 race, posting a time of 7:35.532. The boat was comprised of Divya Batchu, Kendell Massier, Julia Miklasevich, Ally Hatton and Maddie Frendberg. Stanford finished first in the heat.
In the 1v8 race, which opened the day, OSU came in third behind Washington and Stanford with a time of 6:33.848. The boat was manned by Anjali Fernandes, Leonie Heuer, Ida Petersen, Lexie Nothdurft, Ida Kruse, Jessy Vermeer, Alessandra Montesano, Sierra Tiede and Grace Libben.
