Ohio State 34, Miami University 14
Sept. 3, 2005
Some Ohio State openers have served as appetizers for the main course. Such was the case when Miami University visited Ohio Stadium. The RedHawks never found the end zone until the fourth quarter, and the Buckeyes rolled on offense with Justin Zwick at quarterback as Troy Smith served the second of a two-game suspension that included the bowl game from the previous season. The main course? A home game against No. 2 Texas the following week, a frustrating matchup that featured a combined eight field goals and nine fourth-quarter points by the Longhorns, who won 25-22.
