Ohio State will start spring football practice the week of March 2 and have its spring game on April 11, the school announced Thursday.
No time for the spring game has been set.
Fourteen members of the Buckeyes’ highly touted 2020 recruiting class are already on campus. It’s the largest group of early enrollees in program history.
The group consists of cornerbacks Lejond Cavazos and Ryan Watts, receivers Mookie Cooper, Julian Fleming, Gee Scott Jr. and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, quarterbacks Jack Miller and C.J. Stroud, defensive linemen Jacolbe Cowan and Darrion Henry-Young, offensive tackles Paris Johnson Jr. and Trey Leroux, safety Kourt Williams and offensive lineman Luke Wypler.
Ohio State also announced the addition of graduate transfer tight end Corey Rau as a walk-on. Rau graduated from Southern Methodist and earned American Athletic Conference all-academic honors.
Rau was a three-star recruit but did not have a catch in six career games with the Mustangs. He entered the transfer portal last August.
Winter conditioning begins next week for the Buckeyes.
