Ohio State scored five runs in the sixth inning to blow the game open and beat Lipscomb 11-6 on Friday in Nashville, Tennessee, handing coach Greg Beals his 300th victory at OSU.
Beals, who has 543 career victories including 243 in eight seasons at Ball State, becomes the fourth coach in Ohio State history with 300 wins.
Nate Karaffa had a three-run homer in the sixth as the Buckeyes (3-4) took a 10-3 lead against the Bisons (6-2). Karaffa finished with five RBI.
Garrett Burhenn (1-2) pitched 6 1/3 innings for the win. He allowed four runs, all earned, on nine hits.
