Thirteen Ohio State football players landed on various preseason awards watch lists released over the last two weeks.
No player garnered more recognition than Shaun Wade, a fourth-year cornerback who was included on three lists for the Bednarik Award and Nagurski Trophy as the nation’s best defensive player, as well as the Jim Thorpe Award for the top defensive back.
Last season, Buckeyes defensive end Chase Young won both defensive player of the year awards.
Quarterback Justin Fields was also on the watch list for the Davey O’Brien Award as the nation’s top quarterback and Maxwell Award as the top overall player.

Running back Master Teague III: Wuerffel Trophy for community service
Wide receiver Chris Olave: Biletnikoff Award for the nation’s top wide receiver
Tight end Luke Farrell: John Mackey Award for the nation’s top tight end
Left tackle Thayer Munford, center Josh Myers and right guard Wyatt Davis: Outland Trophy for the nation’s top offensive lineman
Linebacker Baron Browning, Tuf Borland and Pete Wener: Butkus Award for the nation’s top linebacker
Kicker Blake Haubeil: Lou Groza Award for the nation’s top placekicker
Punter Drue Chrisman: Ray Guy for the nation’s top punter
