Ohio State got its 15th commitment for its 2019 recruiting class on Friday when 4-star wide receiver James Williams pledged to play for the Buckeyes.
Williams, from St. Louis, is ranked the No. 130 overall prospect nationally in the 247sports composite rankings and is the 24th top receiver in the class. At 6 feet 1, 170 pounds, Willams is considered a speedster in the Parris Campbell mold.
He is the first player to commit to the Buckeyes since the late-summer saga that caused coach Urban Meyer to be placed on paid administrative leave and then suspended for his handling of the Zach Smith domestic-abuse allegations.
Williams also considered Alabama, Nebraska, UCLA and Oregon.
