Former Ohio State receiver L’Christian Smith, who left the team during spring practice, will transfer to Cincinnati.
Smith announced his decision on social media tweet Thursday. He thanked several Buckeyes coaches, including retired head coach Urban Meyer, current head coach Ryan Day and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline.

A native of Huber Heights, Smith was part of the Buckeyes’ 2018 recruiting class and joined the program last fall before putting his name in the NCAA transfer portal.
Smith did not catch a pass in three games as a freshman. He qualified for a redshirt by appearing in four games or fewer.
