Ohio State football: Five-star receiver Julian Fleming commits to Buckeyes for 2020

The top-ranked wide receiver in the 2020 recruiting class committed on Friday morning to Ohio State.
Julian Fleming, a 6-foot-2, 199-pounder from Southern Columbia High School in Catawissa, Pennsylvania, is rated as the No. 6 overall prospect in the 247sports.com composite rankings.
His addition moves Ohio State from No. 11 to No. 9 nationally in the 2020 recruiting cycle, overtaking Penn State atop the Big Ten rankings.
The Nittany Lions, along with Alabama, Clemson and most other top programs, also recruited Fleming.
In his announcement video on Twitter, Fleming said that Ohio State felt like home to him.

“When you see me, you see a five-star prospect,” he said in the video. “You see a can’t-miss football player. You see someone who’s been given advantages because of my size, my speed and my potential. You see someone who can help your favorite team.
“But I am more than a football player. I am a son. I am a brother. I am working to be a man. I work when no one else is working so I can be everything I am destined to become — for me, my family. No one else.
“To you, I am a football player. To you, home is a place. To me, home is a feeling. To me, Ohio State is a home. Go Bucks.”
Steve Wiltfong, director of recruiting for 247sports, described Fleming as “the most complete receiver in this class, a combination of size, speed, explosiveness, elusiveness, ball skills and confidence.
“He's a three-sport star, a terrific basketball player and outstanding sprinter and long jumper that should be an instant impact player for Ryan Day and company.”
OSU receivers coach Brian Hartline was the lead recruiter for Fleming, and his unit continues to add to its stockpile. Four-star receivers Gee Scott Jr. and Jaxon Smith-Njigba have already committed to the 2020 class.
“Receiver was a pivotal need for the Buckeyes this cycle, and the three they have committed right now is the best trio you'll find anywhere in the country,” Wiltfong said.
