The Cornhuskers have enough explosiveness to pierce the Buckeyes' defense at times, but Ohio State should have its way on offense. It's important to take the crowd out of it early. If the Buckeyes do, their overall talent edge should carry them through in their toughest test so far.

There’s enough evidence to suggest Scott Frost’s program is trending in the right direction in Year 2 with the arrival of talented underclassmen, especially at the skill positions. But a talent gap remains, and Ohio State has looked too good in the early stretch not to handle business.

I'm not buying the Cornhuskers' comeback story just yet. To that point, I felt much more comfortable giving the Buckeyes 42 points than Nebraska 20. But since it's a night game in Lincoln, I figure Big Red Nation deserves being thrown a bone in the way of a late, meaningless touchdown.

A few decades ago, Nebraska dominated the Big Eight. Recent years have felt more like a Big Ache as the Cornhuskers have struggled to find the Big Ten formula for success. They’re getting there under Scott Frost, but there will still be lumps before they’re over the hump.

Nebraska's youthful-but-talented offense is gaining traction, and the defense is deeper than it has been in years. But OSU holds an overall talent edge in all three phases — perhaps most notably special teams — and it should be enough to overcome an electric sellout crowd at Memorial Stadium.
