Star of the game
Justin Fields looked like one of the nation’s best quarterbacks as he completed 15 of 21 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns and also scrambled for a 15-yard touchdown on the first series. Through his first five starts, he has 23 total touchdowns without an interception.
Stat that mattered
15: Offensive plays of 10 yards or more in the first half as the Buckeyes built a 38-0 lead on a Huskers team that entered the game 10th in the Big Ten in total defense.
Big picture
The long-awaited test for the Buckeyes proved not to be much of one as they again won in lopsided fashion, scoring 48 unanswered points to open the game before putting in most of their backups for the fourth quarter. Nebraska wasn’t any more of an issue than Ohio State's earlier opponents.
