Player of the game

Tailback J.K. Dobbins rushed for a career-high 211 yards and four touchdowns, a key performance that gave Ohio State’s offense an early boost while it overcame a slow start — including from Justin Fields, who missed on six of his first nine pass attempts.

Stat that mattered

55: Passing yards allowed by Ohio State in the second half, after Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson passed for 250 in the first. Still, the 305 passing yards were the most allowed by the Buckeyes this season.

Big picture

The Buckeyes beat the Wolverines for the eighth consecutive time, their longest winning streak in the rivalry’s history, surpassing a seven-game streak from 2004 to ’10. It also allowed them to finish the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2013.
