One of Ohio’s top prospects in the class of 2020 is transferring schools, The Dispatch has learned.
Midway through his junior season, 7-foot center Zach Loveday is transferring from Gallipolis Gallia Academy to Huntington (West Virginia) Prep. Because it is a prep school and out of state, Loveday will be immediately eligible to play.
A four-star prospect in the 247Sports.com composite rankings, Loveday is currently the No. 2 overall prospect from Ohio, the No. 7 center prospect in the country and the overall No. 49 recruit. Ohio State has been recruiting Loveday and offered him a scholarship during his sophomore year.
The Dispatch caught up with Loveday and Gallia Academy coach Gary Harrison while the Blue Devils participated in Ohio State’s team camp last summer.
