Ohio State men's basketball | Buckeyes add Harrison Hookfin as walk-on

The Ohio State men's basketball team has added a walk-on for the 2018-19 season.

Harrison Hookfin, a freshman from Lebanon, Ohio, has joined the team to provide some more practice depth, coach Chris Holtmann announced Monday.

"We felt like we just in practice needed a little more size," Holtmann said.

Hookfin is listed at 6-5, 220 pounds. He was with the team for the Jan. 23 Purdue game and watched from the stands behind the Ohio State bench. Holtmann said video coordinator Kyle Davis found Hookfin when the coach asked him to keep his ears open for a current student who could bring size to the roster.

He still is working through the normal eligibility process but is now being listed on the team's official roster and "is a current member of our group as a walk-on," Holtmann said.

Hookfin will wear No. 42. He is the 14th player on the roster.
