Men's basketball | California transfer forward Justice Sueing says he's coming to Ohio State
One of the top men's basketball scorers from the Pac-12 is coming to Ohio State.
Former California forward Justice Sueing announced that he is transferring to the Buckeyes after spending his first two seasons with the Golden Bears. He will sit out the upcoming season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules and have two years of eligibility for Ohio State starting with the 2020-21 season.
As a sophomore, Sueing led California in scoring and rebounding at 14.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, good for 12th and 13th best, respectively, in the league.

He also finished No. 126 nationally in free-throw rate, higher than anyone on Ohio State’s roster from a season ago and a point of emphasis from coach Chris Holtmann throughout the year.
The decision comes after a weekend visit to Ohio State by Sueing and his family. ESPN ranked Sueing as the 13th best “sit-one” transfer option on the market.
California fired coach Wyking Jones after two seasons and replaced him with former Georgia and Nevada coach Mark Fox.

A former three-star recruit from Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei, Sueing was the No. 19 recruit from his state in the 2017 recruiting class according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He averaged 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a freshman.
The Buckeyes will have just one senior this season in forward Andre Wesson, who will play a significant role on the team. Sueing figures to slot in as an immediate challenger for Wesson’s vacated spot in the 2020-21 season.
He is known to have also taken a visit to San Diego State.
The commitment gives the Buckeyes a full roster for the upcoming season and leaves just one open roster spot for the 2020 class, but the Buckeyes are likely to bring in at least two freshmen for that class as roster attrition opens up a spot or two.
