Top-ranked Penn State remained undefeated by rolling to a 28-9 win over No. 2 Ohio State on Friday night in a Big Ten match at St. John Arena.
The marquee matchup of the night — No. 1 Bo Nickal of Penn State vs. No. 2 Kollin Moore of OSU at 197 pounds — ended quickly, with Nickal getting the pin at 1:38. The Nittany Lions (11-0, 7-0) won the first two matches and never looked back.
Ohio State’s Myles Martin, No. 1 at 184 pounds, improved to 14-0 with 18-6 decision over Mason Manville. The Buckeyes (9-2, 5-2) also picked up wins by Malik Heinselman (125) and Micah Jordan (149).
MEN’S HOCKEY
Matt Miller scored with 9.5 seconds left in overtime to propel third-ranked Ohio State over host Wisconsin 2-1 in a Big Ten game on Friday night.
Miller found himself alone in front of the net for the winner for the Buckeyes (18-5-4, 11-3-3). Mick Messner gave the Badgers (9-13-5, 5-7-5) a 1-0 lead midway through the second period before John Wiitala equalized for Ohio State with 11:12 remaining in regulation.
