Goaltender Andrea Braendli stopped all 28 shots and Charly Dahlquist, Jacyn Reeves and Jincy Dunne scored as 10th-ranked Ohio State defeated Minnesota State 3-0 at the OSU Ice Rink on Saturday to sweep a best-of-three quarterfinal series in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association tournament.
The Buckeyes (20-12-2) advance to the WCHA Final Faceoff in Minneapolis, where they will face No. 2 Wisconsin (30-4-2) next Saturday.
After a 3-2 overtime win on Friday, Dahlquist scored on the power play at 2:04 of the first period to give OSU the only goal it would need. Reeves made it 2-0 at 16:30 of the third and Dunne iced it with an empty-netter with 38 seconds to play.
Braendli stopped six shots in the first period, 12 in the second and 10 in the third to blank the Mavericks (9-19-7).
