Ohio State didn't waste any time against Bethune-Cookman, scoring six runs in the first inning and eight in the second on the way to a 16-9 baseball victory Sunday in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Noah West went 2 for 5 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored for the Buckeyes (7-4). Freshman Nolan Clegg was 2 for 4 with two RBI. Nate Romans homered while going 2 for 4.
Left-handed starter Griffan Smith (3-0) went five innings and gave up seven runs (six earned) on eight hits to get the win against the Wildcats (4-6).
