Women's tennis: Ohio State defeats Baylor 5-2

Ohio State defeated Baylor 5-2 at the Varsity Tennis Center. The No. 14 Buckeyes (11-2) claimed the doubles point and won four singles matches, three in straight sets, to increase their winning streak to eight.

Ohio State's Mary Beth Hurley overwhelmed Stephanie Adames 6-0, 6-0. Emma DeCoste dominated Baylor's Katelyn Parker 6-0, 6-1 and Kolie Allen upended Baylor’s Kristina Sorokolet 6-3, 6-0.

Ohio State's Shiori Fukuda edged Livia Kraus 6-1, 6-7 (2-7), 1-0 (11-9 in a super tiebreaker).

Baylor's Jessica Hinojose edged Isabelle Boulais 6-1, 4-6, 1-0. And Paula Baranano slipped past the Buckeyes' Luna Dormet 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).

Ohio State picked up the doubles point. Danielle Wolf and Dormet defeated Adames and Parker 6-1. Fukuda and Isabelle Boulais topped Kraus and Sorokolet 6-3. Ohio State's Allen and Andrea Ballinger were trailing 3-5 when play was suspended.
