Men's golf | Ohio State tied for 7th in NCAA qualifiers

Ohio State continued an impressive run, posting a score of 296, and enters Sunday’s final qualifying round tied for seventh place at the NCAA championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Buckeyes were led by senior Daniel Wetterich, who shot 2-over-par 74 and is tied for 16th with a two-day total of 145. Sophomore Laken Hinton shot 1-under 71 and is tied for 37th at 4 over.

After Sunday’s round, the top 15 teams in the field of 30 will advance to play Monday, and the individual champion will be crowned. The top eight teams after that will move on to match-play quarterfinals, which begin Tuesday.

Ohio State is at 593 overall, eight shots ahead of 15th-place Southern Methodist. Oklahoma State leads at 566, 12 shots ahead of second-place Stanford.
