Baseball | Buckeyes face Vanderbilt in NCAA regional opener

Ohio State will open the NCAA baseball tournament at 7 p.m. Friday as the No. 4 seed in the Nashville Regional and will play site host Vanderbilt in its opener.
The other teams in the double-elimination regional are No. 2 seed Indiana State and No. 3 McNeese State. The winner will advance to a super regional the following weekend with the opportunity to advance to the College World Series.
The Buckeyes (35-25) qualified as winners of the Big Ten tournament. The Commordores (49-10) are the top seed in the regional and the second overall seed in the tournament.
