Hockey | Rohlik gets contract extension from OSU

Steve Rohlik has been named the ninth head coach in Ohio State men's hockey history, Gene Smith, Ohio State associate vice president and director of athletics, announced Wednesday April 24, 2013. Rohlik (rah-lick) was the associate head coach for the Ohio State program the last three seasons and has 16 years experience as a Division I coach. During his career, he has recruited and/or coached two Hobey Baker Award winners, 12 All-Americans and 18 players who have reached the NHL. (OSU photo)

Ohio State coach Steve Rohlik has signed a contract extension running through the 2023-24 season.

Through his first six years as coach, he has led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten championship, three NCAA Tournament appearances and a Frozen Four appearance. 

Rohlik, the 2018 and 2019 Big Ten coach of the year and a two-time American Collegiate Hockey Association national coach of the year finalist, has compiled a 113-84-28 record with three consecutive 20-win seasons. The Buckeyes won the 2019 Big Ten regular-season title.
