Ohio State still has a scholarship to give for its 2021 recruiting class, but the Buckeyes have been continuing to work on their 2022 class with a trio of known new scholarship offers this week.

It’s unclear how many players will ultimately comprise the class. With college basketball rosters in constant flux and still an open scholarship for 2021, it’s impossible to forecast just how many players Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann will sign in 2022. Right now, the Buckeyes have one verbal commitment for the class in Bowen Hardman, a three-star shooting guard from Cincinnati Princeton.

Here’s an alphabetical list of the three new offers reported this week for 2022.

AJ Casey

A five-star power forward from Tinley Park, Illinois, Casey also holds offers from Michigan, Indiana and Nebraska, among others.

Listed at 6-8, 180 pounds, Casey is the top prospect from Illinois, the No. 5 power forward in the nation and the overall No. 20 recruit per the 247Sports.com composite rankings.

Isaac McKneely

A 6-4, 170-pound shooting guard, McKneely is actually AAU teammates with Hardman on the Wildcats Select team. Hailing from Poca, West Virginia, McKneely is rated as the No. 50 prospect in the nation, the top player from his state and the No. 9 shooting guard.

McKneely now holds nearly two dozen scholarship offers. The Buckeyes are the most recent, and their offer arrived shortly after Indiana’s. Virginia, Illinois, West Virginia and N.C. State have all offered, too.

He is familiar with Ohio State’s campus. McKneely took an unofficial visit to Columbus in February, when the Buckeyes hosted Maryland for a big recruiting weekend. All three players who have now verbally committed for the 2021 class were in attendance: Malaki Branham, Kalen Etzler and Meechie Johnson Jr. In addition, five-star recruit Kendall Brown was on an official visit. He has since committed to Baylor.

Isaac Traudt

Another power forward, the 6-9, 195-pound Traudt plays for Grand Island (New England) Senior.

He’s listed as a four-star prospect, the top recruit from New England and the No. 66 overall prospect. He holds offers from Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Iowa State and others.
